Obituary of Anita J. Biggs
WESTERLO - Anita J. Biggs, age 68, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at her residence after an 18-month battle with cancer. Born in Brooklyn on Jan. 12, 1944, she was daughter of the late Anello and Harriet Brown Panico, and wife of the late William E. Biggs, Sr. who preceded her in 2003. Anita resided on Long Island for many years. She moved to Greenville in 1986 and to Westerlo in 2007. Anita worked as a clerk at Country Square Wine & Liquor in Greenville for 5 years, retiring in 2011. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards and the Lottery. Anita also enjoyed reading and listening to her beloved 50's music.
Anita is survived by two sisters, Edna Hofer and Theresa Miller; her step-son, William E. Biggs Jr. and his wife, Anita's niece Diane; great-niece Courtney V. Biggs and great-nephew, Tristen J. Biggs; several other nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Anita is predeceased by two brothers, James and Thomas Panico.
At Anita's request, cremation has been performed, and a private memorial will be held. Memorial donations to St. Peter's Radiation Oncology Dept. for Research, c/o Dr. Duncan Savage, 315 S.
