GREENVILLE - Matthew F. "Matt" Lawton, age 51, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson after a brief illness. Born in Albany on Dec. 4, 1960, he was son of the late Edward G.S. and Hazel Sutton Lawton. Matt worked for over 20 years as a custodian in the Greenville Central Schools. He also was employed as a stock clerk at Walmart in Catskill. Matt liked to play golf. Matt is survived by his wife, Carol Manning Lawton; children, Matthew F. Lawton Jr. and Toni Marie Lawton; brothers, William and James Lawton; several cousins. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 4987 SR 81, Greenville, followed by burial in Greenville Cemetery.
