Obituary of Jody L. Haley

EAST DURHAM - On Friday, May 7, 2021, Jody Haley, loving and dutiful husband, step-father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 51. Jody was born on November 11, 1969 in Albany, NY. A lifelong resident of the Hudson Valley, he married Joan Haley on June 23, 2018 after nearly a decade together. Jody was a selfless and compassionate man with a contagious laugh and an unparalleled spirit. Resilient and resourceful, he was an avid outdoorsman, craftsman, and naturalist. Ever magnanimous and affable, he was known for his unceasing generosity toward friends and strangers alike. His caring personality extended beyond just people, as his love of creatures great and small informed a lifelong passion for raising and providing homes for countless animals. Jody was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ruth, and his mother, Patricia. He is survived by his wife, Joan, his two step-children, Courtney and Dylan, his grandson, Johnny, and an entire community of friends and family to whom he meant the world. His gentle and altruistic nature will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched. A memorial service and visiting hours will be held on Monday, May 10, 2021 between 6 and 9 o'clock p.m. at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home in Greenville, NY.
