Obituary of Maxwell C. Fuegmann

DURHAM – Maxwell C. “Max” Fuegmann, 69, passed away on Saturday morning, April 24, 2021 at Columbia Memorial Hospital. Born in Catskill on February 9, 1952, he was a son of the late Otto and Margaret Griffin Fuegmann. Max was retired from the Town of Durham Highway Department after 24 years of service. He was a life member of the East Durham Volunteer Fire Company, life member of the Norton Hill Wildlife Club, and was a gun safety instructor. Max was a NASCAR enthusiast, and loved camping and playing horseshoes with all of his Earlton Campground friends. Max is survived by his wife of 36 years, Barbara Hull Fuegmann; daughters, Jennifer Hoose and Wanda Stannard; grandchildren, Jeanette Packard, Amy (John) Halvorsen, James (Desire`) Ravenscroft, and Aidon Stannard; great-grandchildren, Makayla and Ethan Ravenscroft; brother, Steven (Linda) Fuegmann; sisters-in-law, Jean and Lynda Fuegmann; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, “Whiskey”. Private cremation has taken place. Memorial donations to the East Durham Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 92, East Durham, NY 12423 will be appreciated.
