Kathleen Beers

Obituary of Kathleen A. Beers

Kathleen A. Beers, 74, of Bethany Village, West Coxsackie, formerly of East Durham, passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Albany Medical Center Hospital. Kathleen was born on August 8, 1946 in Brooklyn, a daughter of the late James and Rose Ferguson Harden. Kathleen and her family vacationed in East Durham for years, and moved there permanently in the 1960’s. In her early years in East Durham, Kathleen was an active member of the Susquehanna United Methodist Church, and an active volunteer with Durham Ambulance. She also was a member of Daughters of the American Legion, Durham Valley Auxiliary Unit 1416. In later years, she became affiliated with Flat Creek Baptist Church in Gilboa. Kathleen greatly enjoyed and appreciated the love and support she received from her church family, her many long-time friends, as well as from her new friends in the Bethany Village community, where she has resided for the last 3 years. Kathleen was the mother of two children, Barbara L. Beers of Earlton, and the late John R. Beers, who sadly died at age 4. She is also survived by Jason Patterson, who was like a son to Kathleen; her sister, Linda Hull (Steve) of Tennessee; nieces, Jennifer Scott (Steve), and Melissa Hull; nephew, Harley Hull (Aren); several grandnieces and grandnephews; and her favorite furry grandchildren who will miss her terribly – they are therapy dogs who visited her frequently. Private cremation and burial of her ashes will take place at a later date. Memorial donations to Flat Creek Baptist Church, 849 Flat Creek Road, Gilboa, NY 12076 will be appreciated.
