Obituary of James L. Baron

GREENVILLE – James L. Baron, Sr., 79, passed away on Friday afternoon, February 5, 2021 at Greene Meadows Nursing Home. He was born in Catskill on December 19, 1941, son of the late Albert H. and Ethel Payan Baron. James lived and worked on the family farm for all of his life. He also was a bus driver and night custodial foreman at Greenville Central Schools. As a lifelong farmer, he was an avid Heartland viewer while enjoying Tic-Tac’s. James is survived by his son, James L. Baron, Jr. (fiancée Tina) and granddaughter Mariah; nephews, Robin and John Roe and their families. In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by his wife of more than 40 years, Arline E. Schmidt Baron, and his half-sister, Irma Roe. The family would like to thank everyone at Greene Meadows for the loving care given to James while he was with them. They were thought of as family. A graveside service will be conducted in the spring in Greenville Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Durham Ambulance, P.O.
