Helen Golden

Obituary of Helen M. Golden

COXSACKIE - It is with great sadness that the family of Helen Marie (Aitken) Golden announce that she entered eternal life on Sunday January 24, 2021. Helen was born in Manhattan, the daughter of the late James and Nora Aitken. She graduated from Cathedral High School in 1955. She married the love of her life, Richard Golden on February 8, 1958 and together they raised 6 loving children: James, Theresa, Barbara, Catherine, Joseph, and Joan. Helen was an amazing wife, mother and friend who will be missed immensely. She is loved by 14 grandchildren: Joseph, Noah, Adam, Jarad, Jordan, Caitlin, Brian, Brittany, Chris, Cameron, Bryce, Nathan, Jeremy, Claire and 1 great grandson, Ansel. A true 63-year love story, Helen and Richard met at a party in NYC and have been together ever since, building a beautiful life together raising their family. Helen loved being surrounded by family and enjoyed time with her large group of life-long friends. In Helen’s eyes, her family could do no wrong. Love, kindness and support was the basis for everything in life and her smile will be truly missed. We will carry a lifetime of beautiful memories with us all forever. She earned a place in heaven raising the 6 of us. A Funeral Mass for Helen on Thursday January 28th will be taped and sent out for all to view afterwards. Burial of her ashes and a Celebration of Helen’s Life is being planned for spring when it’s safe to gather together. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made in Helen’s memory to Saint Mary’s restoration fund, 80 Mansion Street, Coxsackie, NY 12051. Okie Dokie Mom, we love you with all our hearts. And from Richard: Me loves you. Arrangements by A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, Greenville. Condolences can be posted at ajcunninghamfh.com.
