Obituary of Helen J. Zwiazek

GREENVILLE – Helen J. Zwiazek, 101, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021. Born in Manhattan on May 23, 1919, she was daughter of the late Michael and Bertha Rogieliwiecz Wierzel, and wife of the late Stanley W. Zwiazek, who predeceased Helen in 1984. Helen was a homemaker, a devout Catholic, and an avid walker. She liked vegetable and flower gardening, playing Bingo, and participating in senior outings. Helen lived on Long Island for many years, until she moved to Bethany Village in West Coxsackie in 2003, and has remained in Greene County. Helen is survived by her devoted son, Lawrence A. “Larry” Zwiazek, and her granddaughter, Robin Bridger. In addition to her husband, parents, and all of her siblings, Helen was predeceased by Larry’s loving companion, Gail M. Healy, and Gail’s son, John Healy. Calling hours will be Tuesday, January 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, January 13 at 11:30 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, 4987 State Route 81, Greenville.
