Obituary of Anna E. Hamm

OAK HILL – Anna E. Hamm, 90, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Elvira Bullivant, and was also predeceased by her brother, James Bullivant. Anna lived most of her life in the Oak Hill-Durham area. She graduated from Greenville High School, followed by employment with the former Pioneer Insurance Company in Greenville. A happy marriage was found with George Hamm, who predeceased her in 1983, after which he remained the love of her life. Anna had a longtime passion for antiques, which led to owning her business, Country Kitchen Antiques. Flower gardening was also an enjoyable pastime. Involvement in the church was important to Anna, engaging in activities and singing in the choir. Survivors include daughter, Sherry (Carl) Otto; son, Bruce (Aggie) Hamm; grandchildren, Lisa Stiefel (Val George), Jeffrey Stiefel, and Matthew Hamm (Ian LaChance). Additional survivors are a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gloria and Paul Gingrich; two nieces and a nephew, and their children. Private cremation was performed, as was Anna’s wish.
