Obituary of Anthony P. Donato

PRESTON HOLLOW - Anthony P. Donato, age 64, passed away early Friday, July 13, 2012 in the comfort of his home, after a brief illness. Born in Queens, he was son of the late Andrew and Philomena DeTurris Donato. Mr. Donato and his family moved from Queens 25 years ago. He was employed as a chemical processor at Glaxo Smith Kline, formerly Stiefel Labs in East Durham. Mr. Donato also ran his own businesses, Top Hat Auto Sales and Anthony's Business Products. He enjoyed watching drag racing, loved boating and cars, and being with his family. Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Olcott Donato; children, Kelly Oliver (David) of Conesville, Meredith Lounsbury (Jody) of Clifton Park, Andrew Donato (Cherie) of Altamont, Samantha Zurek (Jason Goeff) and Patrick Donato (Sara) all of Preston Hollow; two sisters, Catherine Attanasia (Robert) of Staten Island and Regina Giordano (Michael DiAcetis) of Coxsackie; 17 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Mr. Donato was predeceased by his son, Anthony, and his step-mother, Anne Giordano Donato. Calling hours will be Monday, July 16 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. The funeral will be Tuesday, July 17 at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 4987 State Route 81, Greenville, where the Funeral Mass will be offered, followed by burial in Brookside Cemetery, Preston Hollow.
