Obituary of Santa Marie Fancher

CONESVILLE - Santa M. “Sandy” Fancher, passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 2, 2020. She was born in Manhattan on November 6, 1943 to the late Michael and Beatrice Tubiolo. Raised on “The Farm” on Jump Brook Rd in Grand Gorge, she was a graduate of Grand Gorge Central School. After settling in Conesville, she worked as a secretary for the Brabazon Agency in Windham, before retiring to become a stay at home mom, grandmother, and child care provider. Sandy was a member of the Conesville Fire Dept. Auxiliary and of the Mountain Top Seniors. She enjoyed crocheting, attending all of her grandkids events at school, canning, cooking, camping, and playing her Gameboy. Sandy was a kind and caring person and she could be found wherever there were children playing. She loved Friday night pizza and holidays and celebrations with family. She enjoyed going places with her family and friends, such as the Big E and going camping and collecting shiny rocks. She loved Elvis, dancing, going for ice cream, visiting casinos, going on “ride abouts” and driving the back country roads, and she loved Italian pastries. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her in-laws, Beatrice and Leland “Dick” Fancher. Sandy is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Lawrence Fancher; her children, Carl (Carole) and Lance Fancher, Amanda (Brien) Ross, and Andrea (Todd) Bohringer; her grandchildren, Samantha Fancher (Justin Shepherd), Olivia and Garrison Ross, and Gavin, Dylan, and Tessa Bohringer; and her brother, Anthony (Kathy) Tubiolo. Sandy has been privately cremated. Calling hours will be held on Friday September 25th from 4 to 7pm at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. Masks are required at the funeral home, and forty visitors at a time will be allowed inside. A graveside service will be held on Saturday September 26th at 11:30am at the Manorkill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to either the Conesville Fire Dept. Auxiliary, Attn: Chelsea Carr, 1292 State Route 990V, Gilboa, NY 12076 or to the American Liver Foundation at liverfoundation.org. Condolences can be posted at ajcunninghamfh.com.
