Obituary of Wayne Hulbert

DURHAM – Wayne “Squeak” Hulbert, 80, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2020 in the Pines at Catskill. Born in Catskill on January 16, 1940, he was a lifelong Durham resident. Squeaky was a Navy veteran. He worked as a milk hauler, picking up milk cans and driving a bulk tank truck. He drove for Borwegen Trucking for a few years, and then went into the trucking business with his brother Mert. Squeak then worked for years as a self-employed carpenter. He and his brother restored antique trucks, and he enjoyed attending antique truck shows around the Northeast. Squeaky is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Bowman Hulbert; children, Wayne Hulbert Jr. (Robin), Wilhelmina Lendin (Richard), Lance Hulbert (late Margaret), Andrew “Pooh” Hulbert (Jessica); 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Adelaide (Philip) Hulbert, Mert (Kathy) Hulbert, Bernard (Cheryl) Hulbert, Gary (Barbara) Hulbert, Lorraine (Raymond) Pearsall, and the late Glendon Hulbert Jr.; his dearest friend and confidante, Lynda Fuegmann; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Squeak has been cremated, and burial of his ashes, with military honors, will take place at Saratoga National Cemetery at a later date. Condolence page is available at ajcunninghamfh.com.
