The thing that we will miss most about Blair was his story telling. From the first time we met him, he made us feel as if we had known him all our lives, and he made us feel welcome and loved as part of his new extended family. We are proud to have known him and will miss him dearly.

Although I never personally met Blair Allen, I feel that I did have the honor of meeting him through what I learned about him from Jeanne. What an admirable man! My condolences to all of you and I hope you find comfort in celebrating his accomplished life. He will undoubtedly be missed.

A few decades ago, I visited Jeanne at her family's house in New York. Her parents were welcoming in the most relaxed way; I felt instantly at home. I remember some of my conversations with Blair: telling me what he was doing in the garden and chatting about everyday topics at the kitchen table. It was a wonderfully pleasant stay. Over the years, I called the Allen residence many times to contact Jeanne; whenever her dad answered, he always took a few minutes to ask how I was and what I was doing. Through many conversations and correspondences with Jeanne, I understood Blair's many accomplishments and kindnesses. I can't think of a more kindly, sincere, gracious and approachable person. My thoughts and love to Jeanne and all her family in celebrating Blair's life.

Share ‘a’ memory? Christmas at the Allens, summers at Vermont. So many wonderful memories of a man who always made one feel at home.
