Cecelia McMillen

Obituary of Cecelia McMillen

With profound sadness Cecelia McMillen, age 63, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Thusday November 14, 2019.  She was born on March 2, 1956 in Albany, New York to the late William and Lillian (Belleville) Goodman.

Cecelia attended Albany High and later received her associate’s degree in Business from Columbia Greene Community College.

Cecelia held many jobs throughout her life using her gift of mathematics, including being a regional auditor for Stewarts Shops and with her latest job working as a senior accountant at Grapeville Insurance Agency.

She enjoyed gardening and tending the flower beds in her yard. She was known for her delicious banana bread and many other home cooked meals. She took great joy spoiling her grandchildren. Cecelia was known to enjoy a casino or bingo trip occasionally. Like her mother, she enjoyed shopping at local yard sales and flea markets and took great pride finding the best price. Known for her generosity and sense of humor, she never missed a birthday or special event.

She was a highly dedicated and loving mother, and grandmother. She was a loyal friend to many.  She will be sorely missed and survived by her siblings, Karen Hogan and William Goodman, children: Heather McMillen (Charlie Cole), Melissa McMillen, Elbert McMillen, Kara Danko (Kristopher Danko),  Kimberly Manning (Kenneth Manning), Jason McMillen (Amanda), and Joshua McMillen, grandchildren: Chace Storm, Ronin Cole, Talon Cole, Kellan Cole, Braxton Manning, Lillian Cole, and Kaden Danko. She spent the last 14 years with the love of her life, Walter Labuda Jr. Before meeting Walter, Cecelia was married to Elbert McMillen, with whom she raised their seven wonderful children. Though their relationship did not last, the pair maintained a good relationship and embraced their new unique, blended families.

The McMillen Family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of Albany Medical Center, Greene County Sheriff's Office,  NY State Troopers,  Greene County Paramedics, and the members of the Medway Grapeville Fire Department. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 17th from 2 to 5PM located at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville, followed by a funeral service at 5pm. She will then be privately cremated. In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to the Greenville Food Pantry, PO Box 631, Greenville, NY 12083  in Cecelia’s name. Condolences can be posted at ajcunninghamfh.com.
