Obituary of Lawrence W. Brennan
HALFMOON - Lawrence W. Brennan, 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday August 18, 2019 surrounded by his family at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. He was born on March 16, 1941 in Queens to the late Samuel and Grace Schneider Brennan. After graduating high school, Lawrence joined the US Navy, serving from 1958 until his Honorable Discharge in 1964. On March 16, 1969 he married Teresa A. Breslin, with whom he shared 50 years with. Lawrence worked as a NYC Fireman for 27 years, before retiring as Captain.
Lawrence is survived by his beloved wife, Teresa; his children, John C. (Cherie) Brennan, Susan T. (David) Schulman, Ann E. (Michael) Overholtzer, and Cathleen M. (Scott) Bilheimer; his eight grandchildren; his sister, Grace Greenwood; his sister-in-law, Margaret Mary Cameron; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Lawrence has been privately cremated. Calling hours will be held on Saturday August 31st from 10:30am to 1pm at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville, followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:30pm at St. John the Baptist Church, 4987 State Route 81, Greenville. His ashes will then be buried in the Greenville Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Community Hospice Inn, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
