Obituary of Catherine E. Doyle

NEW BALTIMORE - Catherine Elizabeth "Cathy" Doyle, age 65, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at her residence. Born in Portland, Maine on Oct. 19, 1946, she was daughter of the late Bernard and Marion Kimball Blauvelt. Cathy was a graduate of Northeastern University. She worked as an electronic technician at Inforex in Burlington, Mass. for several years. Cathy and her husband John moved from North Reading, Mass. to Lake Pleasant, NY, where they opened Hummingbird Hill Bed & Breakfast. Cathy managed the B&B while also working with John at John's TV & Village Video, a business they owned in Speculator. They moved to New Baltimore 15 years ago. Cathy and John operated John's Electronic Repair in Glenmont until 2004. Cathy enjoyed quilting and knitting, and was a member of Greenville Quilters & Knitters. She also enjoyed working with dogs, and was a member of the Albany Obedience Club. Cathy is survived by her husband of 28 years, John M. Doyle; two brothers, Keith (Pamala) Blauvelt of East Pepperell, Mass. and Kenneth (Edna) Blauvelt of Lowell, Mass.; one aunt, Barbara Campbell of Ossipee, NH; cousins, Shirly Savage of Ossipee, Judith Kimball of Peabody, Mass., Ann Dow of Pewaukee, WI, Joyce Whitney and Alice Ruel both of Maine. Cremation was conducted privately, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
