GUILDERLAND - Nora Aitken, age 99, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, having lived a long and full life. Born in Glasgow, Scotland on May 29, 1912, she was daughter of the late John and Mary Conway Hill. Nora came to America at age 17 and lived in New York City until age 65, when she and her late husband moved to Florida. They resided in Florida until 2000, when health issues brought them north. Nora is survived by her children, Helen (Richard) Golden of Athens, and James (Karen) Aitken of Land o' Lakes, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; one niece, Margaret Mary (Charlie) McNiff, and one nephew, Jack (Betty) Brady. In addition to her parents, Nora is predeceased by her husband, James Aitken, and all 8 of her siblings. Burial of Nora's ashes will take place privately in the family plot in Greenville Cemetery. Memorial donations to Community Hospice, 445 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205 will be appreciated. Arrangements by A.J. Cunningham Funeral Homes, Inc., Greenville.
