William Duffy Obituary

William Duffy (78) of Norton Hill, NY passed away on Dec. 1, 2009 in the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, New York. He was born in New York City on Oct. 28, 1931, son of the late William & Kathleen (Griffin) Duffy. "Duffy" served his country in the US Army, during the Korean War being highly decorated and receiving the silver Star, Purple Heart and four Bronze Service Stars. "Duffy" was a Bartender & Cook at the Brass Rail until 1990 and the Kilcar since. He was a member of the Greenville American Legion Post #291 and the Tri-Town Memorial V.F.W. Post #7229. One of "Duffy's" favorite sayings was "Only God can make a tree". Besides his parents he was predeceased by two brothers, John & Michael Duffy. A service will be conducted by the Greenville American Legion Post #291 at 7PM on Sunday Dec. 6 at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR81. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 7pm prior to the Service. Interment will be at the Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY on Monday Dec. 7 at 11AM.
