Obituary of Jack J. Giovanniello
Greenville - Giovanniello, Nov. 6, 2011 at Stratton DVA Medical Center. Jack Giovanniello (87) of Greenville, NY. Jack was born in Maspeth, NY on Feb. 5, 1924 son of the late Dominick & Mary (Cirillo) Giovanniello. He served in the US Army from 1943-1946 serving in the North Apennines & the Rome-Arno campaigns. Wounded on July 7, 1944 he received the Purple Heart & the Bronze Star. He was a member of the Greenville American Legion Post #291.
He was a local contractor (Greenville Area Builders) & for many years he and his late wife Laura owned and operated the Tall Tree Manor Summer Resort and the Country Peddler Flea Markets in Freehold. He was a kind and caring man & would help anyone in need. He could fix anything and was quoted as saying "a Jack of all Trades and Master of none." A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather; he considered his grand and great grandchildren a special gift. He was predeceased by his loving wife Laura in 2010 and also 6 brothers, Charles, Joseph, Michael, Steven, James & Jack Giovanniello and a sister Nettie Pirozzi.
Surviving are two daughters, Laura Wiley (John), Roseanne Giovanni, four sons; Jack Giovanniello (Colleen), Raymond Zarcone (Dianne), Leslie Zarcone (Beverly), Kenneth Zarcone (Sandra), 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren , a sister Grace Landisi & several nieces & nephews.
Funeral service will be Sat. Nov.12, 11am at the Greenville-Norton Hill U.M. Church, SR81,Norton Hill, NY. Relatives & friends may call at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR81, Greenville, NY on Fri. 4 to 8pm. Greenville American Legion Post #291 will conduct services on Fri. 7:30pm. Interment will be in the Greenville Cemetery.
