Berta Link, 85, of West Milford, NJ, formerly of South Westerlo, NY, passed away on Thursday November 3, 2011 after a brief illness. Born in Germany, she was the beloved wife of Jakob Link, with whom she emigrated to the United States on Easter Sunday 1954. She lived her life with exuberance and independence until the end, and would not have had it any other way. Described by a close family friend as "brave, enduring, funny, and unfailingly kind", she charmed people and made friends wherever she went. Berta was a devoted mother to Margaret, as well as to her husband Colin Lauder, cherished Grandma to Jonathan and Christopher, and simply "Tante " or dear friend to countless others. She left this life loved by many and will be sorely missed. There will be a burial service at Greenville Cemetery in Greenville, NY on Saturday, November 12 at 1pm, Open House on Friday, November 18 from 2-8pm at the home of Margaret and Colin Lauder, 106 Carletondale Road, Ringwood, NJ and a Memorial Service on Saturday, November 19 at 2pm at The Community Presbyterian Church, 145 Carletondale Road, Ringwood, NJ 07456.
