Obituary of Helen D. German

Helen D. German, 83 years, of St. Johnsville, NY (formerly of Preston Hollow, NY) passed away on Jan. 20, 2010 in the St. Johnsville Nursing Home in St. Johnsville, NY. She was born in Preston Hollow, NY on Aug. 31, 1926, daughter of the late Alton and Zoa (Edwards) Potter. Helen worked at Becker Electronic and then Stiefel Labs. She wrote for the Middleburgh News. Helen was a member of the Tri-Village Vol. Fire Co. and the Preston Hollow Baptist Church She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Gordon German, a son, Daniel German and a grandson, Fred Koerner, Jr.. Surviving are her three children, Ann Hanford (Richard) of Sprakers, NY, Helen Gooden (Ron) of Mims, FL and Kenneth German (Tammy) of Redfield, NY, her seven grandchildren, Shelby German, Kenneth Hanford, Lee Hanford (Rebecca), Elizabeth Hanford, Heather German, Lori Barnes and Shari Jenson, seven great grandchildren, Kari Conatzer, Cassie Barnes, Kagan Jenson, Tye Hanford, Lee and Scott Perry and Trinity Lavalley and two brothers, Earl Potter (Ellen) and Lloyd Potter (Clare). As to her wishes Helen was cremated and there will be a Graveside Service in the Spring at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
