Obituary of Mary Celia Mohr
Mary C Mohr
Conesville - Mary C Mohr, 101, died on Friday, Sep. 9, 2011 at home. She died of natural causes. Born Mary C Flowers on Feb. 27, 1910, to John and Josephine Flowers in Valley Stream, NY.
Growing up on a chicken farm in valley stream as a little girl, Mary always dreamed of living on a chicken farm in the Catskill mountains, in upstate New York. She married William A Mohr, on Sep. 11, 1927, a veteran of WWI, and a tinsmith by trade. During WWII, Mary worked at Columbia Bronze Corp. in Freeport, NY, fabricating propellers for single prop aircraft for the US Military. Mary was pre-deceased by her husband William in 1976, and never remarried. Family was always very important to Mary, Though she spent some time living in Florida, she returned to Long Island to live with her family until, at the age of 98, she moved to Conesville, to live with her Granddaughter on a chicken farm in the northern Catskill Mountains. Her remaining years were spent living comfortably in the Catskill Mountains, her childhood dream, where she quickly learned that Mother Nature had a way of postponing even important events, like her 100th Birthday party. Mary was the type of person who would make everyone smile, and would give freely of herself to help others. This world will not be the same without her. She will be missed dearly.
Mary is survived by her Daughter Lorraine Cacenski, Granddaughters JoAnn Lauro, Janice Jennings, Carolann Trimarchi, Lauralee Rogers, Donna Wozlonis, and Grandsons Chester Cacenski, Mark Cacenski and David Mohr, sister Frances Brown, and 13 Great Grandchildren.
Mary was pre-deceased by her parents, John and Josephine Flowers, her husband William A Mohr, and her son William Mohr Jr.
