COEYMANS HOLLOW - Anna J. Brown, 96, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, July 28, 2011 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland after a brief illness. Born in New York City on February 24, 1915, she has lived in this area for 50 years. Anna, or "Ma" as she was widely known, was a homemaker and a member of the Coeymans Hollow Volunteer Fire Corp. Ladies Auxiliary; charter member of Albany County Ladies Auxiliary; member of the Little Red Schoolhouse Historical Society in Coeymans Hollow; and member of Senior Projects of Ravena, where she regularly enjoyed meals and Bingo. Ma was devoted to her multi-generational family, and always looked forward to phone calls and visits. Ma is survived by her devoted son and caregiver, William E. "Bill" Brown of Coeymans Hollow; five grandchildren; many great and great-great-grandchildren; and one niece in Germany. She was predeceased by her parents at an early age; her husband, Robert J. Brown Sr.; two sons, Robert J. Jr. and Frederick A. Brown; her sister, Eleanor Ritzel; and an infant brother. A graveside service to bury her ashes will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to Senior Projects of Ravena, P.O. Box 142, Ravena, NY 12143, or to Coeymans Hollow Volunteer Fire Corp. Ladies Auxiliary will be appreciated. Arrangements by A.J.
