Obituary of Aurora A. Meola

Meola, Aurora A. SURPRISE - Aurora A. Meola, 90 years, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, July 1, 2011. She was born in New York City on Sept. 7, 1920, daughter of the late Mariano and Carmella (Netti) Brucato. She served her country in the US Army during WWII. Aurora was the Secretary to the VP of Advertising of Hiram Walker Distilleries in Astoria, LI. Aurora and her husband Nicholas moved from the Bronx to Surprise, Greene County 26 years ago. She loved to cook and entertain at home and had a green thumb for house plants. Aurora was a communicant of St John the Baptist Church in Greenville. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by three sisters and one brother. Surviving is her beloved husband of 53 years, Nicholas L. Meola; a brother, Roy Brucato of Syosset, LI; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 5, 9:30 a.m. from the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville, NY 12083 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St John the Baptist Church. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 1 to 5 pm. Interment will be in the Saratoga National Cemetery.
