Obituary of Eleanor S. Revette

Eleanor S. Revette (Ellie), 73, a resident of The Pines at Catskill, departed this earth peacefully on May 26, 2011, with her family at her bedside after a brief illness. Born in Albany on December 16, 1937 she was the first child of Harry and Mabel Tompkins. Ellie was a lifelong resident of the area, she grew up in Westerlo, graduated from Berne-Knox-Westerlo Central School in 1956, she then attended "night school" and was employed at Albany Medical Hospital. Ellie is survived by her children, Joseph & daughter- in- law Denise, Edward & daughter-in-law Barbie, Donna & son-in-law Albie, and her youngest son James. She was very proud of her 7 grandchildren, Joshua, Jason, Taija Revette, Jordan & Julie Jaycox, Jamiee & Jese Revette . Recently she enjoyed 2 great-grand children, Johnathan & Lielah. Ellie is also survived by her two sisters, Gloria Crawford of Sarasota, Fl and Joyce Tompkins-Marino of Schenectady, NY. She was a stay at home mom while her children were growing up. She was also active in the community and church. She was founder of The Teen Bunch youth group in the mid-seventies. Once her children no longer needed her attention she tried her hand at a variety of careers, her favorite was as a cashier for the McDonalds on Delaware Ave. in Delmar. She spent her last three years as a resident at The Pines at Catskill where she loved the staff & the staff loved her. Her nickname was "The Town Crier", because she always knew the what and where of the goings on and kept the staff well informed. A very special thanks to all the wonderful nurses & nurses aides at The Pines. She will be laid to eternal rest at the Greenville Cemetery. Funeral service will be 1:00pm, Tues. May 31 at the A.J.
