Sophia Kalivas (91) of West Coxsackie, NY passed away at the Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, NY on April 29, 2011. She wa born in Greece on Jan. 20, 1920 daughter of the late John & Olga (Botsolas) Passios. Sophia & her late husband Peter Kalivas formerly ran a Greek Restaurant in Port Richmond. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a great cook one who loved dancing and was a loving mother. grandmother & great grandmother. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1984, a son Christopher Kalivas and a sister Margaret Nichols. Surviving is a daughter Francyne Kudlack (John), a son William Kalivas, three grandchildren, Corrina Gardner (Davon), Robert Dedrick & Marleen Kalivas, four great grandchildren, Mariah Dedrick, Alexandra Gardner, Gabrielle Gardner, & Taylor Kalivas. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tues. 10 AM at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Friends may call at the Casey funeral Home, 350 Slosson Ave., Staten Island, NY on Mon. 2 to 4 & 7 to 9pm. Interment Moravian Cemetery. Those who wish may remember her in a special way and donate to St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 440 Whitehall Rd., Albany, NY.
