White, Clara M. MEDUSA - Clara M. White, 96, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at her residence. Born on November 14, 1914 at Sharon Springs, she was daughter of the late Homer and Thresa Mereness Bellinger, and wife of the late Carl A. White, who died in February of 1970. Clara was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She always loved spending time with her family and was always there to help whenever the need arose. Whether she was "Mom", "Gram", or "Gramma-Gram", she gave you fond memories to cherish. Clara worked as a seamstress for many years. When her daughters were growing up, she very often put smiles on their faces with the clothing she made for them and their friend Brenda, so they could dress alike. She enjoyed baseball, the Atlanta Braves being her favorite team. If the Braves were playing, you knew you would find Mom in front of the TV, cheering them on. Clara is survived by her children, Mary Hulbert (Isaac Revette), Linda Warner (Kenneth), Valerie Lounsbury (Joel), Rachel Chase (Galen), and Douglas White (Linda); her sister, Ida Mae Istle; 20 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two children, Shirley VanDerbeck and Harold Bowman, and five siblings, Leland Bellinger, Crystal Lamb, Bernice Van Patten, Theron Bellinger, and Irene Vedder. Calling hours will be Sunday, April 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville. The funeral will be Monday, April 18 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.
