WESTERLO - Antoinette "Toni" Grunwald, 86, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Albany Medical Center Hospital. Born in Hoboken, NJ on July 30, 1924, she was daughter of the late Vincent and Rose Calabrese Monaco, and beloved wife of the late Eric Grunwald. Toni was a very active volunteer with the Hilltowns Community Resource Center, the Hiawatha Grange 1480, where she served as Master, Lecturer and Chaplain, and the Hilltown Seniors. Toni was a member of RSVP, and volunteered her time at the food pantry Christmas store. She prepared meals at the Helderberg Senior Center and served as coordinator of the Rides for Seniors program.
Toni is survived by a brother, Sam Monaco; sisters, Marie & Jack Balzano and Theresa & Don Bey; children, Jeanne & Bob Hansen, Eileen Hallock, Ricky & Shirlene Grunwald, Michael & Eileen Grunwald, John & Donna Grunwald; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held 12 noon ,Sat. March 12 at St. John the Baptist Church, SR 81, Greenville, NY. Friends may call at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR81 Greenville, NY on Sat. from 11am to 11:45 prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Westerlo Rescue Squad or the New York State Police, New Scotland Barracks will be appreciated. Light a Candle at ajcunninghamfh.com.
