Obituary of Olaf L. Olsen
Olaf "Sonny" Olsen (79) of Hannacroix, NY passed away peacefully on Thursday Jan. 13, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital after a short illness. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on Jan. 25, 1931 son of the late Ragnvald & Charlotte (Davidson) Olsen. Sonny served in the US Army from 1955 to 1957. He was formerly employed at "Royal Brass" machine shop and then worked for the Town of Greenville Highway Dept. until his retirement in 1988.He was also a past Cub Scout leader in Greenville.
Sonny was a Life Member of the Greenville Vol. Fire Co & a member and Past Commander of the Greenville American Legion Post #291.
Sonny is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Carolyn, two daughters, Pam Rauf (Bill) & Dina Klob (Kevin) both of Greenville. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Heather Schreiber (Holger) of CT, William Rauf (Aileen) of Cairo, Amanda & Ashlee Rauf of Waltham, MA, David Klob & Krystal Klob of Greenville a great grandson Lukas Schreiber of Ct, a sister Ruth Holm of Palm Bay, FL and nieces & nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a son David Olsen.
Funeral service will be 11am Mon. Jan. 17 at the Cunningham Funeral Home, Greenville, NY. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sun. Jan. 16 from 4 to 8PM. The Greenville Vol. fire co. and the Greenville American Legion Post will conduct services at the funeral home on Sunday. Interment will be in the Greenville Cemetery.
