Obituary of Per Heidenberg

Per Heidenberg passed away on Friday June 14, 2024, surrounded by his wife, Greta, and children.  Per was born July 17th, 1932, in Fredrikstad Norway to Sigvart and Hanna Heidenberg.  He left Fredrikstad at the age of 14 to sail the seas for ten years.  It was during this time that he met his wife, Greta, in Brooklyn.  He left the sailing life to marry Greta 68 years ago.  They settled down in Brooklyn before moving to Greenville in 1967.  Per was always busy with a project as he renovated their 1800's farmhouse. He was happiest working on the farm or traveling the world with Greta.  They often traveled to Maine in search of a good lobster and fresh seafood.  He was actively involved in the Sons of Norway organization.
