Obituary of Thomas M. Dwyer

Thomas M. Dwyer, Sr. of South Cairo (formerly Freehold), NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2016, surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for, and loved, knowing that he would once again be reunited with the love of his life, the late Mary L. Dwyer. He was born in East Meadow, Long Island, son of the late Wallace and Gertrude Pruett Dwyer. Thomas is survived by his children Margaret (Barry) Feml, Thomas Dwyer (Carrie Anderson), and Linda (the late David) Rose; devoted grandfather to Raymond Feml, Renee Dwyer, Jessica Dwyer, Shawn (Amanda) Rose, Nicole (Neil) Conant, T.J. (Amanda) Dwyer, Mitch Dwyer, Mary (Christopher) Johnson, Robbie Dwyer, and Meghan Dwyer; doting great-grandfather to Mackenzie, Jace, Nathan, Levi, Heidi, and Emelia; dear brother to Robert (Karen) Dwyer and the late James Dwyer; dear brother-in-law to Eileen (Bruce) Alber and the late Patricia Sullivan. Thomas is also survived by many nieces and nephews. At the end of his career, Thomas had logged thousands of miles on the road driving for BOC Gases, but it was the time spent with his family that he most enjoyed and had many stories to share. Thomas was involved in many community organizations including the Freehold Fire Company and the Catskill Elks Lodge. Thomas was a true supporter of his late wife's involvement with the Greene County Republican Committee. Calling hours will be Tuesday 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, Greenville. Funeral Mass will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, Greenville, followed by graveside services at the Freehold Cemetery.
