Obituary of Jacob Brent Pruiksma

PRESTON HOLLOW - Jacob Brent Pruiksma, 20, died suddenly on Friday July 8, 2016 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born on September 27, 1995 in Hudson to Brent and Connie Hoffmeyer Pruiksma. Jacob graduated from Middleburgh High School and Questar Heavy Duty Truck Repair Class of 2013. Jacob was proud to be a New York State Certified Logger and was operating a crew in Oneonta for Cut True Lumber Company of Jefferson, NY. Jacob loved his family and would enjoy a good wrestling match with his father and brothers. Jacob loved logging, dairy farming, hunting, fishing, and everything outdoors. He recently became engaged to his fiancé, Kate MacMillan, and was looking forward to the upcoming birth of their child, due February 3rd. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Jacob is survived by his parents, Brent and Connie Pruiksma; his siblings, Crystal (Nathan) Strobeck, Derek (Erin) Pruiksma, Dalton Pruiksma, and Matthew Pruiksma; nieces and nephews, Wyatt, Pearl and Opal Strobeck, and Avery Pruiksma; fiancé, Kate MacMillan; grandparents, June Pruiksma and Alfred and Beatrice Hoffmeyer; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday July 14, from 2 to 4:30pm & 6 to 9pm at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. A memorial service will be held on Friday July 15th at 11am at the funeral home.
