Obituary of Carolyn E. Schultz

Carolyn Ellen Snyder Schultz 3/5/1924 to 6/10/2016 MEDUSA - Carolyn Ellen Snyder Schultz passed peacefully at her son's home on Friday, June 10, 2016 after a long illness. She is survived by her son, Charles William Schultz and his wife Hope Ring, two granddaughters, Leah Alexandra and Joy Ellen Schultz, all of Charlton MA; two nieces, Carole Bates and Marilyn Handler; and three nephews, John Waldron, David Snyder and Steven Snyder. Carolyn was predeceased by her husband, Carl W. Schultz on December 3, 1995. Despite losing her hearing to a childhood illness in grade school, Carolyn taught herself to read lips and graduated with her class of 1942 from Greenville High School. Afraid of nothing, she worked as a printer and a pottery instructor, an EMT and a mail carrier. She was a life-long member of the Medusa Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary and a member of the Eastern Star. Those who knew Carolyn were struck by her sense of humor and love of mischief. Whether it was going down children's slides in her eighties or petting tigers, she was always up for an adventure. Calling hours will be next Tuesday, June 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. The funeral will be next Wednesday, June 22 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial in Medusa Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Medusa Volunteer Fire Company, 28 CR 351, Medusa, NY 12120. Condolences may be posted at ajcunninghamfh.com.
