Obituary of Edward C. Doherty
EAST DURHAM – Edward C. Doherty, 67, died suddenly Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Born in Derry, Northern Ireland, he was a son of the late Manus and Katherine Higgins Doherty. Eddie immigrated to the United States in 1985 and settled in Middle Village, Queens, and summered in East Durham before moving up full time in 2011. He was presently employed as a carpenter by Certified Property Maintenance in Slingerlands and Clifton Park.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sadowski; his siblings, Kay, Marion, Elizabeth, Margaret, Manus, and David; many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Friday, July 14th from 7 to 9 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. The funeral will be Saturday, July 15th at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial in Winston Cemetery, East Durham. Condolence page is available at ajcunninghamfh.com.
