Obituary of Andrew Vuolo

ACRA – Andrew Vuolo, 89, passed away on Saturday evening, March 23, 2019, after a brief illness. He was born in the Bronx on May 15, 1929. Andrew was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He moved his family to Commack, Long Island and was employed as a delivery man for Wonder Bread in Huntington, retiring many years ago. Andrew moved to Greene County in 2004 and was a communicant of Our Lady of Knock Shrine in East Durham, member of Our Lady of Knock Council 6439 Knights of Columbus in East Durham, and member of Greenville American Legion Post 291. Andrew is survived by two children, Rosemary Alouisa of Commack and Nicholas (Barbara) Vuolo of Preston Hollow; two grandsons, John and Anthony Alouisa; siblings, Mary Capitanello of N.J. and Gennaro "Jerry" Vuolo of Mass.; several nieces and nephews. Andrew was predeceased by his parents, Nicola and Luisa Vuolo; his wife, Rose Vuolo; their son, John Jude Vuolo; and his siblings, Benjamin, Elizabeth, and Alfonse. A graveside service with military honors will be conducted on Wednesday, March 27th at 2:30 p.m. in Calverton National Cemetery on Long Island. There are no calling hours.
