Marie E. Lang, 80, of Selkirk, New York, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, with her family by her side.

Marie was born in the Bronx, New York, to the late Dorothy Holster and Joseph Schampier and was raised in Coeymans Hollow, New York.

Marie dedicated much of her life to caring for others through her career as a Registered Nurse specializing in OB/GYN. Caring for others came naturally to Marie, both professionally and personally. She was a loving, compassionate, and giving person who was always willing to lend a helping hand and put the needs of others before her own.

Above all else, Marie cherished her family. She is survived by her daughter, Bobbi Jo VanAlstyne, and her granddaughter, Sara Stangle, who will forever carry with them the love, memories, and lessons she gave throughout her life.

Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband, John A. Lang II; her daughter, Michelle Stangle; her brothers, Robert Schampier and Charles Schampier; and her sister, Helen Schampier.

Marie will be remembered for her kind and generous heart, her compassion for others, and the unconditional love she had for her family. She touched many lives throughout her years as a nurse and through the simple acts of kindness and generosity that defined who she was. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love she gave and the memories she created will remain forever in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known and loved her.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, August 16th from 3 to 5 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville.  The funeral will be Monday, August 17th at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial in Bethlehem Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an Ovarian Cancer Foundation in Marie’s memory.
