Ronald L. Holdridge Obituary

Ronald L. Holdridge, 89, passed away peacefully at his home on July 24, 2026. Born on January 31,1937

in Catskill to the late Harold and Ada Holdridge, Ron was a lifelong Greene County resident. Ron was a

graduate of Catskill High School and settled in Cairo, where he lived the majority of his life. Ron worked

as a carpenter, first with his father and eventually his sons in the family business until his retirement. He

built many houses and buildings throughout the county and passed on his skills to his children.

Ron enjoyed fishing, car shows, and had a passion for going to yard sales with his wife Gloria, where

they would sell their finds at their home shop. Throughout the years, Ron shared childhood stories and

anecdotes with the family and was always ready with a joke because, as he always told us, “I’ve got a

million of them.” Ron was a family man who vacationed in the Outer Banks for more than 50 years,

passing that tradition on to his children and grandchildren.

A humble, quiet man, Ron was well-respected and liked by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He

was always there for his family and friends, often dropping whatever he was doing to help others. He

instilled those qualities in his family, who thought the world of him.

Ron was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Gloria, brother Roger, sisters Evelyn Rom and Helen

Jackson. He is survived by his children, sons Michael (Kathleen) of Catskill, Ronald (Deborah) of Cairo,

and Kevin (Suzanne) Holdridge of Cairo, and his daughter Amy (Thomas) Fucito of Purling, his sister

Laurel D’Urso of Brooklyn, plentiful grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and

several nieces and nephews.

The family will hold private services to honor a life well lived and a man well loved.
