Martha A. Fitzpatrick Obituary

GREENVILLE -   It is with full and heavy hearts that we share with you news of the sudden passing of our mother, Martha A. Fitzpatrick, on Thursday, May 28, 2026.  "The Queen" was born inside her childhood home in Union City, New Jersey in 1934, and resided in Hudson County for the majority of her life before retiring to Greenville, New York.  She worked for many years for the Social Security Administration in Jersey City and in Hoboken where she took great pride in helping those in need.

Strong and resilient, she walked through life in her own way and on her own terms, never hesitating to extend a helping hand to those around her.  Through challenges great and small, she was always quick to remind us that "this too shall pass."  She found joy in simple things--like Irish music, Quick Hits slot machines, and making everything better with butter.

Martha was predeceased by her husband, Thomas C. Fitzpatrick on October 10, 2016. She will be deeply missed by her children:  Daughter, Kathleen Ruiz and her husband Gene, Daughter, Maureen Fitzpatrick, Daughter, Christine Moran and her husband Joe, and Daughter Geri Perez and her husband, Nino.

She will long be remembered by her grandchildren: Michael Ruiz and his wife, Cristina Tong; David Ruiz and his wife Cheryl; Thomas Ruiz and his wife LeeAnn; Katie Moran, Grace Moran, Justin Perez and his wife, Taylor, Danny Perez, Ryan Perez, Mike Perez and his wife Nikita Perez, Wicklow Josephine, and Dublin Josephine.

She was blessed to be the great-grandmother of the the Ruiz 9:  Zachary, Abigail, Grayson, Rebecca, Alexandra, Tyler, Lucas, Aria and Riley.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, June 2nd from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville.  The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m., followed by burial in Greenville Cemetery.  Condolences may be posted at ajcunninghamfh.com.

On behalf of our entire family, thank you for the outpouring of love and concern for our Queen.  It is greatly appreciated.

May the road rise to meet her,

May the wind be always at her back,

                                        And until we meet again,

May God hold her in the palm of his hand.

Suaimhneas sioraí tabhair dóbh, a Thiarna
