Stephen J. Myers Obituary

Myers, Stephen

LOUDONVILLE - Passing suddenly on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, he left so many hearts shocked and shattered. He was a son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend to so many.

Growing up in Clarksville, he enjoyed the outdoors, riding bikes, building forts, playing fireman with his Tonka trucks. He loved bowling and was quite good at it. He always thought he was a pro like Earl Anthony and Mark Roth just to name a few. He enjoyed church, Sunday school and youth group at Onesquethaw Reformed Church. Once he was old enough he would eventually join the Onesquethaw Fire Company where he was a member for many years. It was like living out his childhood dream of playing fireman with his trucks. And yes, he did even used to light them on fire and play foam truck with Dawn dish soap bottles.

In his older years, he started his own lawn and landscaping business, Steve's Lawn Care. He was an instant success, customers loved him and many of them he had for years. He will be missed by all of them for sure. When he wasn't working he enjoyed spending time with his camp family at Warrensburg Travel Park. He always had a crew around the biggest fire in the park, and was never afraid to throw a few more pallets in the fire if he had to. There are so many at camp that will miss him dearly. It won't be the same there without STEVE-O. He enjoyed his music and always had some playing and it was always a variety. His favorite bands were Godsmack and Volbeat. He loved all sports with his favorite teams being the Denver Broncos, Boston Red Sox, Michigan, and Syracuse Orange.

He is predeceased by his loving mother Patricia Stark (Myers). Survivors include his father Walter Myers Jr, his brother Walter Myers (Casandra), his sister Kelly Taylor (Michael); nephews Josh Covey, Jeremy Seaburg & Joseph Myers; nieces Briana & Kyra Myers; great nieces Sophia Covey, Elizabeth & Skylar Barber; great nephews Austin Covey & Logan Barber. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and of course friends.

Calling hours will be Saturday, April 18 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville.  A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m., followed by burial of his ashes in Onesquethaw Cemetery.  Family and friends are welcome to gather at the Clarksville Fire House after the cemetery service for a celebration of his life.

Instead of flowers, if everyone could make donations to the Scars Foundation, Sully Erna from Godsmack started this years ago for mental health issues and care. Stephen would love this and supported this foundation himself.
