Curtis E. Cutler Obituary

Curtis E. Cutler (Curt, Yogi, Cutty), aged 84 years old, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026, in his home with his family, who loved him dearly.

He is survived by his daughters; Dina Deluca (Mark Stroffoleno), Rene’ (David Baitsholts) and four grandchildren Seth DeLuca, Jared DeLuca (Holly), Cameron Baitsholts (Madeline), and Keira Baitsholts; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving and beloved wife, Diana, just a year prior in March of 2025.

Curt was born on October 14,1941 in his childhood home in Greenville to Chester and Grace Cutler. Brother of Gerald Cutler.

As a young boy Curt worked at Shepards Farm, located in Greenville, until the day he started working at R.C. Lacy Ford in Catskill. He worked there until he retired from being a long-time mechanic of 38 years. Through the years of work, he became known as a mechanical genius. Fellow mechanics and friends would go to him for advice right up to his passing away. He was also in the National Guard for 7 years.

Later he married his love, Diana Dean, planned and constructed their home, and helped raise their 2 daughters.

He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, friend and neighbor. He helped everyone in the community and worked extremely hard his entire life. However, he also enjoyed life a great deal. He loved picnics, going along the Hudson River and other waterways as well as Sunday drives, on all days, not just Sunday. He enjoyed working on his property with his endless mowing and other projects he’d work on, but he also enjoyed sitting on his porch and patio and waving at the passing cars. He really enjoyed all types of projects, especially repairing all his machinery which he accumulated over the years. He just loved the challenge of a complicated auto repair. However, he loved being with his family the most and was incredibly proud of them. He will be missed more than words can ever say and will always be remembered, cherished, and honored. He has left a legacy that we can all be proud of. May we all strive to work as hard, be as patient, selfless, and kind as Curtis E. Cutler.

He will be cremated. His family will not hold a wake or funeral. However, later in the summer there will be a Celebration of Life gathering to honor and fondly remember him. Everyone who would like to attend will be welcome.  Condolence messages may be posted at ajcunninghamfh.com.
