Albert W. Jacobs Obituary

Albert W. Jacobs, 74, of Coxsackie, breezed into the great beyond on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Born on a sunny Friday, May 18, 1951, in Auburn, he was welcomed into this world as one of the 10 adventurous offspring of Oliver and Elizabeth Jacobs.

From the start, Albert had a knack for farming that never faded. His early years were spent tending the soil at Raths and Schoenborn’s farms in his beloved Coxsackie, later doing hard work at Serta Simmons Bedding in New Baltimore. But Albert's true passion wasn’t just about tilling the land – it was about tilling hearts. Known for his infectious smile and bestowing flowers upon all he met, Albert was the living embodiment of kindness and generosity.

He was the guy who would give you the shirt off his back, he loved to  plant flowers to make the Coxsackie Transport Crew grin as they passed by.

You could often catch Albert strolling through Coxsackie, gabbing with the Village Crew and lending a helping hand wherever it was needed. Whether walking dogs or moving furniture, Albert was a constant source of warmth, friendship, and goodwill in his community.

In addition to his siblings, Albert leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to bloom in the hearts of his surviving family members: Leroy Jacobs, Donna Stiffler, Dianne Stroud, Maggie Stacey, Linda Owens, Judy (Robert) Andersen, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.

A celebration of Albert's vibrant life will be held later this year, a fitting tribute to a man who sowed joy wherever he went. In lieu of tears, may we all remember Albert with a smile and a flower, just as he would have wanted.

In addition to his parents Albert is predeceased by sisters Gloria Moore, Susan Jacobs, JoAnne Owen, two brothers-in-law Donald Stroud and Peter Stacey.

Albert's earthly remains are in the gentle care of AJ Cunningham Funeral Home. Condolences and fond memories can be shared at www.ajcunninghamfh.com, keeping alive the spirit of a man who lived to spread happiness.
