SELKIRK - Michael Thomas Gager, 65, of South Bethlehem, son of the late Donald and Rita Gager, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 22, 2025.

Michael was a graduate of Ravena Coeymans Selkirk High School. He was a proud member of the Union of Operating Engineers and worked in Rensselaer at Walter S. Pratt & Sons for over 35 years. Michael enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family, where his absence will be felt immensely. He was a kind, generous man, who was always there for those he loved.

Michael was the loving father of Leah Marie Barger (Zebulon), and step-father of Sarah Roberts. Michael will be missed tremendously by his brother Sean Gager (Penny), sisters Donna Hagen (Kenneth Van Alstyne), and Mary Tice (Robert). Michael also leaves behind his cherished grandsons, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grandnephews. Michael was predeceased by his sister Diane Hoffman, his nephew Robert Hagen, and his niece Katie Gager.

A special thank you to his niece Michele Hagen, who was his close friend and confidante, especially over these past few months.

A calling hour will take place on Saturday, January 3rd from 10 to 11 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 21 Main Street, Ravena.  Memorial Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in the church.
