GREENVILLE – William R. “Billy” Myers, 93, passed away on Friday morning, November 7, 2025 at St. Peter’s Hospital.
Billy was born on March 16, 1932 at Blue Mountain, son of the late Magdalene and Eugene Myers. He graduated from Saugerties High School. Billy was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving overseas with the 2nd Infantry Division. He was honorably discharged, returned home and went to work for Central Hudson Gas & Electric, retiring as a Working Foreman after a 38 year career. Following retirement, Billy and his wife enjoyed traveling the United States and Canada, including a special trip to Alaska. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of the Norton Hill Wildlife Club, the Mt. Nebo Hunting Club, and the Greene County Federation of Sportsmen. Billy was a snowmobile enthusiast and was a member of the Was-Ha-Gaen Club. He also enjoyed membership in the Greenville American Legion Post 291.
Billy is survived by two children, William T. Myers and Arline Myers-Biegel; four grandchildren, Kristopher Biegel, Jenny Biegel, Becky (Russell) Lewis, and Brianna Myers; the light of his life, his great-granddaughter, Natalie Smith; and his sister, Alice McPheeters. In addition to his parents, Billy was predeceased by his wife, Beverly Falk Myers on June 8 of this year, and two sisters, Lois Rockefeller and Cynthia Fetty.
The funeral will be conducted privately. There are no calling hours. Burial with honors will be beside his wife in the Blue Mountain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Greene County Women’s League-Cancer Patient Aid, P.O.
