Martin F. Regan Obituary

Martin F. Regan, a resident of Greenville, NY, died Sunday, September 21, 2025 peacefully in his home from complications of Alzheimer’s Disease. A proud native of Carracastle, Co. Mayo, Ireland, he was born January 15, 1956, the sixth child of the late Michael and Mary Regan. He immigrated to the United States in 1973, living first in Whitestone, NY and the Bronx, NY. In 1979, he married his wife of 46 years, Lucy (nee Fenton), after which they settled in Woodside, NY and welcomed three sons: Martin, Thomas, and Daniel. The family made New York’s Catskill Mountains their home in 1992.  


 


Martin was a skilled and accomplished craftsman, working with the New York City District Council of Carpenters/Local 608. He is predeceased by his parents; sister Evelyn Lynch and brother-in-law John Lynch; sister Cathleen Regan; brother Dan Regan; sister-in-law Cathleen Lavelle Regan; sister-in-law Mary Fenton Downing; and brother-in-law Timothy Fenton. He is survived by his wife, Lucy; sons Marty, Thomas, and Danny; brother Michael; sister Noreen and brother-in-law Gerry Gilligan; the extended Fenton family, including Michael and Anne; nieces and nephews; grand nieces and nephews; and friends cherished like family over five decades of friendship.


 


Calling hours will be Thursday, September 25th from 4 to 8 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville.  Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, September 26th at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Knock Shrine, 2052 State Route 145, East Durham, followed by burial in Winston Cemetery, East Durham.  Family flowers only.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to Grace Place at Resurrection Lutheran Church, P.O.
