PRESTON HOLLOW – Barbara Marie Vuolo passed away suddenly at her residence on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 with her husband at her side.

            Barbara was born in Brooklyn and raised and educated in Bethpage, Long Island.  She worked for New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS), retiring as an inspector after 36 years of service.  She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Our Lady of Knock Council 6439, Knights of Columbus in East Durham.

            Barbara is survived by her husband, Nicholas J. Vuolo; her mother, Barbara O’Rourke; her brothers, Michael (Cameron), Robert (Cathy), Stephen, and Frank (Kathy) O’Rourke; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Barbara was predeceased by her father, Michael J. O’Rourke.

            Calling hours will be Tuesday, September 2nd from 4 until 7 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville.  Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, September 3rd at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, 4987 State Route 81, Greenville, followed by burial in Winston Cemetery, East Durham.  Condolence messages may be posted at ajcunninghamfh.com.
