Frederick (Fred, Freddy, Fritz) J. Klob Jr. peacefully departed this world on Sunday, August 24, 2025, to join his wife of 71 years, Lois (Waldron) Klob. Fred was born in Albany, NY on Sunday, September 28, 1930, to the late Frederick and Rose (Flach) Klob. Fred retired from Callahan Industries where he worked for over 30 years as an Operating Engineer for Local 106, as a skilled fabricator, and later a shop steward.

Fred enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, baking, eating out, playing cards, NASCAR races, and even Wii bowling. Fred built and drove stockcars, raised and trained racehorses, beef cows, restored and showed antique cars, refurbished old tractors, collected antique guns, and even built birdhouses.

At our house, he was the carpenter, plumber, electrician, landscaper, stonemason, lumber jack, blacksmith, veterinarian, doctor, financial advisor, and our steadfast ally.

Fred is survived by his three children, Monte (Linda) Klob, Brenda Klob, and Kevin Klob, as well as five grandchildren Rebecca (Jason) Klob, Corey Klob, Adam (Donna Mae) Klob, David (Devin) Klob, and Krystal (Dave) Caldwell. Also left to cherish his memory are his eight great-grandchildren, Payton, Raegan, Darian Klob, Colby, Monte, Molly Klob, Blake, and Hunter Caldwell. Fred is also survived by his beloved sisters, Martha (Khaki) Markel, and Mary (David) Marshall, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and Loving wife he is predeceased by a brother Paul Klob, and a sister Rose F. Klob.

Calling hours will be on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 4 pm to 7 pm at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville. A funeral service will take place at the same location on Tuesday, September 9th at 11 am. Interment will follow at the Greenville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pastor William Balta at the Congregational Christian Church of South Westerlo 282 CR 405 South Westerlo, NY 12083, to the benefit of the food pantry.
