WESTERLO – Robert E. “Bob” Davis, 60, passed away suddenly at his residence on Friday, August 8, 2025.

            Born in Albany on March 9, 1965, he was son of the late Chester and Thelma Scrimsher Davis.  Bob was raised in Westerlo and graduated from BKW School.  He began his career at Greenville Polishing in Rensselaerville and learned the trade.  He then worked for 37 years as a polisher at Royal Metal Products in Surprise, and for the past three years he has worked as an assembler at Hannay Reels in Westerlo.  Bob and his wife Diane are seasonal campers at Whip-o-Will.  He was passionate about 80’s rock and 90’s country music.  Bob loved to cook and barbecue and was always watching YouTube for new recipes.  He enjoyed playing horseshoes and shooting darts, and loved to make homemade beer.  He also liked to visit auctions and garage sales.  He had a large collection of steins, which he proudly displayed at home.  He enjoyed NASCAR, being outdoors working in the yard, and was obsessed with his dogs.

            Bob is survived by his wife, Diane Lee Davis; daughter, Cheri Hulett (John); grandchildren, Xander Davis, Trinity and Zachary Hulett; siblings, John Peluso (late Kate), Barbara Ann Martin (Jeff), and Kate Harrica (Pat); mother-in-law, Lorrine Helmedach; in-laws, Patricia Denton (Frank), Chris Heath (Michele), Ann Berryman (Charlie), and Lorinda Winnie (Wayne); aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his brother, William Peluso; and his sister-in-law, Brenda Heath.

            At Bob’s request, there are no calling hours.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Sunday, August 17th at 2 p.m. in the Medusa Cemetery, followed by a Celebration of Life in the Glen Doone Pavilion at Thacher Park.  Memorial donations for suicide prevention to preventsuicideny.org will be appreciated.  Condolence messages may be posted at ajcunninghamfh.com.
