WESTERLO – Henry H. Lasher, Jr., 81, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Friday, June 13, 2025.
Henry was born in Saugerties on January 23, 1944, a son of the late Henry H. and Elizabeth Rosenkrance Lasher. He was a graduate of Berne-Knox High School. Henry was employed for 30 years as a Deputy Sheriff by the Albany County Sheriff’s Department, retiring in 2000. He was a resident of Westerlo since 1958, and was a 61-year active member of the Westerlo Volunteer Fire Company. Henry was a member of the Westerlo Rescue Squad for 25 years, and was a member of Fire Police of Albany County, Hilltown Seniors, and the former Helderberg Hilltoppers Camping Club.
Henry is survived by his wife, Linda Meyn Lasher; sons, Henry “Butch” Lasher III, and Robert Lasher; sister- and brother-in-law, Barbara and Mark Denton. Henry was predeceased by his brother, Jacob Lasher.
Calling hours will be Thursday, June 19th from 4 to 7 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. Officers and members of the Westerlo Volunteer Fire Company, Fire Police, and Auxiliary are requested to meet at 6:15 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral will be Friday, June 20th at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial with honors in Westerlo Rural Cemetery.
