Ann M. Downes, 83, of Ravena passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025 after a brief illness. Born in 1941 in Johnstown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Florence (Lorence) and Lawrence Hladik.  Ann is predeceased by her husband of almost 50 years, Edward Patrick “Pat” Downes.

After raising her children, Ann worked for a variety of local businesses and eventually retired as a Discharge Planner from the Visiting Nurses Association in Albany.  Ann was active with the Girl Scouts when her children were young, and was a 32-year member of the Greater Ravena Area Lions Club. In recent years, Ann has enjoyed many peaceful afternoons reading by the river, visiting with her many friends around the community, and spending time with her family, especially the children.

Ann is survived by her loving daughters Kathleen (Dale) Emory, Marie Vanderhyden, and Patricia Downes, and Lori Anne Morrison (Marc). She also is survived by her grandchildren Kevin Curdgel, Amber Riling (Joseph), Allecia Vanderhyden, Dale Emory Jr., and Hope Emory as well as her sisters Cathy Parry (Ronald) and Antonette Murphy (Jack), four great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Church of St. Patrick, 21 Main Street in Ravena, on Friday, May 2nd, with a calling hour at 10:00 am and Mass at 11:00 am, followed by interment at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Coeymans.
