Linda L. Rippel Obituary

CAIRO – Linda Carley Rippel passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025, surrounded by her family.


Linda was born in Ketchikan, Alaska. The family moved to Greenville, and she was a graduate of Greenville Central School, class of 1966. Linda volunteered at the Asbury United Methodist Church Thrift Shop for many years. She loved to shop and go on trips, and visit with her friends. She will be deeply missed.


Linda is survived by her son, Dan (Allyson) Rippel of Cairo; three grandchildren, Seth (Shelbi), Logan (Kaitlyn), and Danel; two step-grandsons, Bill and Tim Holbrook; three step-great-grandchildren, Abby, Aiden, and Bella; two sisters, Sandra and Lovan; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents and her husband, Richard E. Rippel, who died July 30, 2022.


Memorial services will be held at the Asbury United Methodist Church of Norton Hill, 5830 State Route 81, Greenville, on Saturday, March 22nd. The church will open at 10 a.m. for a calling hour, followed by the memorial service at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will be appreciated.
